Ben Makosch - Structural Integrator, Yogi

A yoga practice is something deeply personal.

The intention you bring to it determines how the resulting inner-discourse or communication with the self unfolds.

During breath and movement we begin to listen attentively to the interconnectivity of our mind and body.  The act of yoga in all its forms and shapes is an act of communication. It is a self-reflective relationship with our own self.

Coming into understanding with this reflection and to immerse into it, lies at the very heart of this practice.

Through his practice of yoga, Ben has found many treatments to be extremely beneficial towards creating an inner dialogue with our body system. The two main methods that he is certified in, practices, explores and continually studies are; Myofascial Structural Integration, under the Anatomy Trains system by Thomas Myers and Chi Nei Tsang abdominal therapy created by Mantak Chia from Chang Mai, Thailand.¨

"It is through these techniques, that my hands become my eyes and ears, allowing me to feel and see into the connective tissue and ultimately creating balance and equal gravity within the body system. In creating this state of natural harmony we can set the right conditions for fluid movement, breath, emotions, and thoughts."

Ben has a CH/UK dual nationality and is fluent in English. German and Swiss German.

He is certified structural integrator from the Anatomy Trains school in Maine, USA, and studied with Thomas Myers, Kelly Chadwick, Lou Benson, Meredith Kirchner, Kirsten Schumaker, Lauren Christmen and Yuron Gal Carmel.

Always seeking to enhance his knowledge of human anatomy, Ben regularly attends live fascial dissections with Thomas Myers and Todd Garcia. He also partakes in the University of Padova's "Winter School of Fascial Anatomy" hosted by Carla Stecco, MD, professor of human anatomy in the department of neuroscience at the University of Padova, Italy.

Ben is a member of the International Association of Structural Integrators - IASI and a Yoga Alliance
